Forest Schools
Forest School at Eccleston
At Eccleston CE Primary, we’re really excited to offer our pupils the chance to learn and grow through our Forest Schools programme. It’s all about exploring the outdoors in a fun, hands-on way that fits perfectly with our Christian values and vision. We want every child to let their light shine, build kindness, perseverance, and respect, and enjoy learning in God’s beautiful world.
What’s Forest Schools?
Forest Schools is all about spending regular time outside in nature, where pupils can explore, take safe risks, and build confidence through practical activities. It’s a brilliant way to help children enjoy learning and grow – both in character and skills – while connecting with the world around them.
Meet Kirsten Davies – Our Forest Leader
We’re lucky to have Kirsten Davies leading our Forest Schools. She’s passionate about outdoor learning and works with every class on a rolling programme, so all pupils get to join in throughout the year. Kirsten also runs our Forest School After-School Club every Wednesday, giving pupils even more time to enjoy nature, make friends, and practice our Christian values like thankfulness, love, and forgiveness.
How Forest Schools Link to Our Vision and Values
Thankfulness: Pupils learn to appreciate and care for God’s creation by spending time outdoors.
Love and Kindness: Working together in activities helps pupils show care and support for each other.
Respect and Forgiveness: Pupils develop empathy by respecting nature and their classmates.
Perseverance: Tackling challenges in the forest helps pupils build resilience and keep trying new things.
