Rabbits Important Information
Each day we have Phonics, Literacy and Maths. We enjoy exploring the continuous provision in our room at 'learning time'. During the day we have 'milk time' and 'fruit time'. We are able to join our friends and buddies at playtime.
Children will have a log-in (find it in the front of their reading records) for "Numbots" - A useful app which focuses on improving children's understanding and automaticity of key number facts.
Within the first few weeks at school the children will complete a statutory assessment called the Reception Baseline. Please see the document below 'Reception Baseline information for parents' for more information.
It's important that parents regularly check ClassDojo.

Phonics & Reading
Read Write Inc. is our phonics scheme which teaches children the sounds in English, the letters that represent them, and how to form the letters when writing. Read Write Inc. Phonics includes reading books written using only the letters they have learnt at each level (and a small number of separately taught tricky words). The children will quickly feel confident and successful.
Each week we take home books to share and enjoy - we choose 2 of our own books- one from our school library and one from "The 50 recommended reads". Please see attachment below.
PE
We do PE each Monday and Friday afternoon - Please come to school dressed for PE.
Certificates
In Let Your Light Shine Worship on Fridays, one child receives a "Let Your Light Shine" certificate for their hard work.
One child is also chosen for their "Handwriting and Presentation". Ethos group award our VIP Certificates (Values in Practice for when children have been spotted showing Thankfulness, Love, Respect, Forgiveness, Perseverance and Kindness.
Buddies
We each have a buddy to help us when we need them. Our buddies are in Year 6. They play games at lunchtime with us, help us in the hall, care for us in the playground.
During the year we enjoy shared activities like... reading together, working out maths problems together and even going on Welly Wednesday trips with them!
Block/Outdoor Play
We enjoy using the blocks inside and outside to build exciting things!
We have all-weather full waterproofs to wear outside. Children can bring their own wellies, to keep on their peg.
Always remember to bring a coat!
Welly Wednesday
Each Wednesday afternoon, we head out into our wonderful school grounds. We explore, study, build and learn! It is great fun!

Photos are uploaded to our Class Dojo page from school and parents are encouraged to share special moments on Dojo too!
Forest School
Once every 4 weeks we go out to Forest School on a Friday afternoon with Mrs Davies instead of PE. We get to spend time outside in nature, exploring, take safe risks, and building confidence through practical activities. It’s a brilliant way to help children enjoy learning and grow – both in character and skills – while connecting with the world around them.
